quail island history

quail island is an island shaped like the unique quail  (a quail is a bird)
 this is a quail 








quail island used to be a quarantining station for animals and mankind with disseizses (in 1842-1931) 






the first person known to step on quail island was captain william mein smith in 1842






on quail island people used to plant crops such as cabbages wheat and potatoes 

the trees used to be up to as much as 97% of the land and is now only 5% left 







they were thought to be extincted but have recently been spotted its the blue penguins
rabbits were also meant to be extinct but are now coming back
